Mistletoe

So I'm not gonna lie I like this song (even though it's J. Biebs, and that's it's a little bit embarrassing). And it's always stuck in my head. [don't judge.]

Only complaint, why does he feel the need to call her shorty? The song's not gangst enough for that... and seems to wring out any sincerity there is in the song- though im guessing there was very little even to start with...

a nap? no thanks.

Have you ever had those dreams where you know you're asleep and you try so hard to scream and wake yourself up but can't? If you haven't you're lucky.

Last night, I stayed up working on my paper and eventually got too tired at 2 and went to bed. Being super tired, I started drifting to bed almost instantaneous. However, I wasn't able to just fall asleep, I entered that weird limbo state.

The state of limbo where you're aware that you're in a dream but dont have any power to change the situation, scream or wake yourself up. This (at least to me) is already a frightening place be, but last night it was ongoing and the situations seemed very real.

Whenever I feel asleep, I would face someone or something that tried to hurt me. Even after waking myself up, I would fall asleep to another struggle. Remember trying to scream to wake myself up while being drowned, another time while I was being smothered and another when I was being led from room to room in this crazy museum like structure.

Eventually, I just got up and spent a while in prayer, and turning on the radio, I was able to sleep. But tonight's gonna be interesting. Sometimes staying awake seems safer than closing your eyes and anticipating the next world you are going to enter.

I am a Christian.

When I say... "I am a Christian"
I'm not shouting "I'm clean livin'."
I'm whispering "I was lost,
Now I'm found and forgiven."

When I say... "I am a Christian"
I don't speak of this with pride.
I'm confessing that I stumble
and need Christ to be my guide.

When I say... "I am a Christian"
I'm not trying to be strong.
I'm professing that I'm weak
And need His strength to carry on.

When I say... "I am a Christian"
I'm not bragging of success.
I'm admitting I have failed
And need God to clean my mess.

When I say... "I am a Christian"
I'm not claiming to be perfect,
My flaws are far too visivle
But, God believes I am worth it.

When I say... "I am a Christian"
I still feel the sting of pain
I have my share of heartaches
So I call upon His name.

When I say... "I am a Christian"
I'm not holier than thou,
I'm just a simple sinner
Who received God's good grace, somehow!

dance.

How I miss dance.

I just need some music and some dance shoes to shut the world out for a while.

the red Chrismas ornament

Today was the first day in a long time that I had to come face to face with the reality that my dad isnt here anymore and that things (like objects) related to him is the only tangible things we have left. I do realize and know that memories have nothing on "stuff" and that if this entire house burnt down, his memory still lives on. However, "things" are one of the best ways to be reminded of someone, and then something meaningful is disrespected or broken it cuts deep.

Before I get into what I realized and learned through this experience, here's a quick recap of what happened. Tonight we had our annual c4c-Christmas party and for one of the activities, we had a photo booth. I was in charge of creating it and bringing props for people to take pictures with. Therefore, I went scouring my house for fun or random Christmas objects. I found these two pretty Christmas ornaments which was from my dad's last Christmas party. At the party, the photo booth was a huge success and people had tons of fun. But I hadn't expected them to have that much fun and to be so rowdy --and when that happens, chaos will always ensue. And of course, it did. Stuff went flying, and the ornament went CRASH. Well guess what, i burst into tears. [nice job Bonnie..]

In hindsight, I overreacting a bit. But it's been a while since that realization of not having daddy around makes me real sad. Beside that, I was reminded oh how many people I have around me that love me so. The forgiveness I received from my mom (when I told her), the hugs and kisses I got and the prayers sent up to God on my behalf today just warms my heart on a chilly day.

Thank you Jesus for the people you've put in my life. They have truly blessed me.
